Biography
Joshua Sherman has been involved in music since the end of elementary school at Bethesda Christian School. He began playing percussion in 5th grade and all throughout middle school, and high school. While playing percussion he became passionate about music and started taking private drum set lessons with educator, musician Kent Hillman. This began his study of Contemporary Christian Music, Church Music, Rock, Jazz, and other styles of playing on drum set. Throughout school he was recognized as an outstanding musician and won multiple awards in high school. At the age of 14 he was honored to play for Bethesda Community Church’s Christmas Production as a percussionist in 2010. When he graduated from Middle School he served on the high school Chapel band for 2 years as a drummer. Along with chapel band he started playing for Bethesda’s Youth Group, Kids Church, and a couple of Adult Prayer Services till the beginning of 2015 as a drummer and guitarist.
Joshua picked up the Electric Guitar in the beginning of 2013. His interest in guitar grew and he began buying books and learning Music Theory. In the fall of 2014 He started college at The King’s University at Gateway studying music and worship leadership studies. Here he took private drum lessons with Chris Knox, and guitar lessons with Ralph Conard for two years. Through College he began having more opportunities to play for church’s in DFW and travel out of town as a musician. He graduated in 2016 from The King’s University at Gateway with an Associate of Worship Leadership with an emphasis in Drums and Guitar for Contemporary Christian Music and Church Music.
Joshua is currently working with TRAK ACADEMY of Music in Keller and Saginaw, along with KETOS CREATIVE in Fort Worth Texas. He is also asked to play for church’s in the DFW area, and called out of town as a musician.
